First Setup on iPhone

Make the first setup boring on purpose.

  • Charge StepSprite first.
  • Install the StepSprite iPhone app.
  • Keep the device close to your iPhone.
  • Be ready to walk for about 10 seconds during the validation step.

The app walks you through a short sequence:

  • welcome
  • placement
  • permissions
  • pairing
  • quick validation
  • goals and reminder options

Add screenshots for the welcome screen, placement screen, and permissions screen.

This is the first screen most customers will see after installing the app.

2. Review Bluetooth and Apple Health choices

Section titled “2. Review Bluetooth and Apple Health choices”

Bluetooth is required. Apple Health is optional.

When you get to the Health screen:

  • StepSprite steps are on by default if you allow Health access.
  • Distance, calories, and workouts are separate opt-in categories.
  • Reading Apple Health totals for charts is also optional.

You can change all of these later in Settings.

Tap Enable Bluetooth when the app asks, then select your device from the list.

What to expect:

  • iOS may show a Bluetooth pairing prompt. Accept it.
  • The app should move from searching to connected.
  • If you see more than one device, choose the one that is likely yours and physically closest.

Pairing StepSprite for the first time

Add a short walkthrough of tapping Enable Bluetooth, selecting the device, and accepting the iOS pairing prompt.

A short video will save a lot of first-time support email.

The app asks you to walk for about 10 seconds and waits for the step count to increase.

That step matters. It confirms the device is:

  • connected
  • sending step data
  • worn well enough to count movement

If the number does not move, adjust placement and try again instead of pushing through.

You can set:

  • a daily step goal
  • a weekly step goal
  • an optional daily reminder to open the app and sync

The reminder starts after your first successful sync. If notification permission is denied, the toggle switches back off.

After onboarding, the app should start behaving like a normal StepSprite app session:

  • the device reconnects when nearby
  • the app reads live status
  • the app backfills recent step history
  • the Stats screen begins to reflect your StepSprite data

Add a screenshot of Today’s Steps and the history sync indicator once you have real data.
