History and Today Count
Two different questions
Section titled “Two different questions”Customers often mix these up:
- “Did StepSprite count my steps?”
- “Why does Apple Health show a different total?”
Those are related, but they are not the same problem.
If Today looks low inside StepSprite
Section titled “If Today looks low inside StepSprite”Check these first:
- have you opened the app near the device today?
- did history sync have time to finish?
- did you go more than about a month without syncing?
If StepSprite never got the missing history, the chart and Today count cannot reconstruct it later.

Step history chart and Today card
Add a screenshot that shows the Today card and the step history chart together.
If the chart looks different from Apple Health
Section titled “If the chart looks different from Apple Health”That can happen for normal reasons:
- you are looking at StepSprite data in one place and Health totals in another
- StepSprite is allowed to write steps, but another source is higher priority in Apple Health
- distance or calories are still app-only because those categories are off
If there are gaps
Section titled “If there are gaps”Gaps usually mean one of these:
- no walking happened in that period
- the app had not synced that period yet
- the history was older than the stored on-device month window before you synced
Best habit to avoid surprises
Section titled “Best habit to avoid surprises”Open the app near StepSprite whenever you want a catch-up sync.
You do not need to babysit it daily, but syncing every so often keeps the Today card, chart history, and Apple Health aligned.
