Firmware Update Issues
If the update will not start
Section titled “If the update will not start”Check these first:
- the device is connected
- the battery is at least
20% - the iPhone app is current enough for the firmware release
If the app says the app version is too old, update the app first.
If the update starts but fails
Section titled “If the update starts but fails”Try again with fewer moving parts:
- keep the device close to your iPhone
- keep the app open the whole time
- make sure the device is charged
- retry from the Firmware Update screen

If the download fails
Section titled “If the download fails”That usually points to the phone side:
- temporary network issue
- interrupted download
- corrupted download package
Retry first before assuming the device is at fault.
If the install completes but the device is slow to come back
Section titled “If the install completes but the device is slow to come back”That can be normal.
The device restarts after a successful firmware update. Give it a moment, then reopen the app near the device if reconnect does not happen automatically.
When to email support
Section titled “When to email support”Email [email protected] if:
- the update fails repeatedly after charging and retrying
- the device no longer reconnects after a completed update
- the app consistently reports package or integrity errors
